The Piazza di Spagna, the Spanish Steps and the Trinita dei Monti.  The Piazza di Spagna is the most famous square in Rome and is crowded day and night.  It takes its name from the Palazzo di Spagna, built in the 17th century to house the spanish Embassy to the Holdy See.  The steps were built in the 1720s to link the square with the French church of Trinita dei Monti above.
The Trevi Fountain is Rome's largest and most famous fountain.  It was designed by Nicola Salvi and was completed in 1762.  The central figures are Neptune, flanked by two Tritons -- one trying to master an unruly sea horse -- and the other leading a quieter beast symbolizing the two contrasting moods of the sea.
